I went to a good German restaurant with friends yesterday, and had to have a Franziskaner Dunkel with my schnitzel and brat, fried potatoes and red cabbage. So good...

And had a New Belgium 1554 last night with my father-in-law.

What does "rec'd" mean? Still learning about making 'em. I downloaded that gif a few weeks ago, and enlarged it using Preview on the Mac. But it would only play once when I posted it.

sorry, "rec'd" was just my lazy shorthand for "recommended"

As long as the original image is a minimum 640 pixels wide, I can "recommend" it and it'll appear on the oppo front page at 640px wide and whatever the appropriate height for that width is. So it won't distort the thing, is what I'm saying.

All the mods are pretty good about enlarging good images. I'll usually recommend anything that is big enough, regardless of if I like the picture or not. I think we'd all prefer to see the bigger images as we browse.

tl;dr - if you can, make sure your images are at least 640 px wide and mods will do the rest.

Got it. My target size is 650 wide. I don't like the way Kinja keeps those images full size, but shrinks anything less. I need to learn how to work with GIFs, though. They don't work right after I try to enlarge them.

Sometimes they just take a while to load. But I am not sure that they animate on the oppo fp if they are enlarged.
